A brief bio

The spoken word is so not dead.

Narration is Susan’s passion.  Daily clients include Umano, NewsBeat and SpokenLayer.

Series narrations include several episodes of WNET’s “Treasures of New York” and two local documentaries for Rhode Island Public Television.

Museum audio voices, medical and dental narrations, TV station imaging and the occasional commercial are all in Susan’s repertoire.

A voice artist for more than 20 years, Susan came to the industry through news and traffic reporting; she was the founding program director for Shadow Traffic New York.

Her years in New York included stints at WOR, WLTW, WPLJ, the Unistar Radio Network and 1010WINS.

Susan spent eight years as the News Director at 97.5 WALK and then moved to WLIW21 as a producer and on-air talent.  She and her producing partner, Brett Kelly, created the very first national fundraising pledge events for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting through their company Kelly Entertainment.

She remains as WLIW’s station announcer and primary voice for pledge programming.  Susan is also the voice for WLIW Create and can be heard on WNET.

For many years Susan was a well known IVR talent with clients such as American Express, T-Mobile, the IRS, Bank of America, New York City 311 and Weight Watchers.  There are countless others!

Susan was also an assistant dean at Hofstra University’s School of Communication from 2004 to 2011.  She taught courses in broadcast performance.
